Offering
Kowtow, incense, and a plate
A kowtow adds one zhang. Plain incense and the plain offering are free. The longer an incense burns, the less smoke it adds each hour. You cannot light another until the countdown ends.
Kowtow and incense, each day
One visit. One stick of incense. Today’s smoke.
Kowtow once, light one incense, and set out one offering. Smoke grows in zhang. Parents, children, and spouses can be written into one lineage. No account — records stay in your iCloud.
What it does
From one stick of incense to one lineage
Lineage
Parents, children, spouses
Write a name and the years of birth and death. Leave the year of death empty, and the person is living. Elders sit above, descendants below, spouses side by side. The whole tree can be shared as an image.
Chronicle
Each day, kept
The number in a cell is that day’s real total. Skyward starts at 300 zhang, and anything above that is still recorded.
The grave
The earth mound is free
A day counts only when its smoke reaches 300 zhang. Ten such days unlock the stone grave, twenty the brick grave, and thirty the stele pavilion. Heading and inscription are four characters each.
Incense
Patron only unlocks finer incense
Patron is a one-time purchase. It is not a subscription, has no trial, and does not renew. It unlocks five finer incenses and five finer offerings. Plain incense and the plain offering stay free.
Reminders
When the incense ends
The app can remind you when incense ends, when an offering ends, and once a day. If you have already visited that day, the daily reminder stays quiet.
Why Benison
Private, quiet, one stick of incense a day
Your iCloud only
No account with the developer. Records stay on your iPhone and sync through your own iCloud.
Five marks of smoke
Small Luck, Manifest, Blessing, Shelter, and Skyward. The oracle is play. It does not predict fortune.
A lineage you can share
Elders above, descendants below, spouses side by side. The whole tree can be shared as an image.
No ads
No ads, no tracking, and no analytics. Aside from checking Patron with the App Store, the ritual works offline.
